Holiday Art // Christmas Tree Assemblage
These cute and original Christmas trees were made past the iv-year olds in fine art course! Aren't they amazing? They loved learning the discussion "assemblage", which is basically like collage except you lot you do more than only glueing. You lot can do anything to hold pieces together, similar wrapping or weaving or cutting. It involves picking up your piece and twisting information technology around a lot. Once the kids understood the concept, they really got into it.
This post contains chapter links. Thank you for your support!
Supplies needed:
To make trees: paper-thin box // sharp pair of scissors // temera paints // brushes
Assemblage materials (cull all or just some): straws // striped paper straws // pony beads // feathers // yarn // wire // piping cleaners // pom-poms // elmer's glue or glitter glue // colored tape // small scissors
Process:
1. Start by cutting out tree shaped triangles. Put out some holiday-ish colored paints (I put out light-green, teal, pinkish and red) and allow them pigment them withal they want. Let dry overnight. (Sorry, I didn't photo this function!)
two. Assemble your aggregation materials and organize them in bowls or a tray. I used these very handy painter's palettes.
three. Demonstrate on a chip triangle how y'all tin utilise tape to hold down the yarn, and so wrap it. Or mayhap you lot can utilize pipage cleaners to stick through the cardboard, and and so add chaplet. Only introduce the ideas without telling them what to do. They just need to visualize the possibilities! This will be a new experience for them.
4. When the wrapping looks like information technology's done, yous can bring out the mucilage. I usually await until halfway through to bring out the glue, otherwise it can get very messy. Gluey hands make work difficult.
5. Lastly, if you lot desire, you can bring out gilded pigment or even glitter!
This projection has so many different applications. Yous can put out any shape, actually, and whatever materials and take them exercise aggregation. Information technology's but fun because it's completely process oriented.
I hope yous attempt!
